1.  Wall Street Journal, by Governor Sean Parnell (NGP Photo).  In Alaska we empathize withSean Parnell residents of the Gulf states who are watching with trepidation as the potentially catastrophic oil spill continues unchecked. This tragedy reminds us of the fallout, both financial and environmental, that we still feel here from the 1989 Exxon Valdez spill. State and federal studies still find lingering subsurface oil, for example, and the herring fishery has yet to fully rebound. But just as Alaskans did not abandon our belief in responsible petroleum exploration and development after that disaster, Americans cannot afford to take their eyes off the ball now.

We are pleased to submit this CALL TO ACTION from our friend, Steve Borell (NGP photo) at the Alaska Miners Association.  This EPA action could injure every American family.  Please…if you haven’t yet joined your fellow readers in writing letters and commenting on this huge juggernaut of Federal efforts to tax, and spend and regulate our country into the stone age, please begin today by responding to Steve’s call to action, below:       -DH

Dear Friend:

The U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote June 10, 2010 on a resolution sponsored by Senator Lisa Murkowski (NGP Photo).  This resolution, SJRes-26, is a “Resolution of Disapproval” that would prevent EPA from using the Clean Air Act to write climate change regulations unless the Congress passes legislation that would authorize such regulations.

EPA is pushing every boundary to its limit by adding new regulations in every way.  This SJRes is the only thing that has in any way slowed down EPA and it is essential for the future of the U.S. economy, and for the mining industry, that this resolution pass.

Please go to the link below and send a letter to your Senators urging them to vote for this resolution.  From this link you can add your specific comments at the bottom of the page and then send the letter.
