Biting the hand that feeds us....
Ramblings. Yesterday in the Anchorage Daily News a longtime environmental gadfly wrote an opinion piece proposing additional obstruction to OCS development in Alaska. A former professor
employed by the University of Alaska, here's another hypocrite who takes a paycheck provided by natural resource revenues and for an entire career has little or nothing good to say about natural resource development. God have pity on and provide insight to his students over the years who may have thought to disagree.
Then there is Mayor Edward Itta (NGP Photo) of the North Slope Borough. One has much to say about this brilliant strategist. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, here is a letter and comment he sent to the BOEMRE in response to a comment period deadline.
Readers can begin absorbing what Professor Rick Steiner said, what Itta said and then arrange these comments in light of our earlier editorials onSenator Begich's RCAC proposal (newly advocated by Steiner) and Begich-Murkowski-Landrieu proposals re: shipping hundreds of millions in OCS revenue sharing dollars directly to Mayor Itta and his colleague coastal villages without the irritation of having such natural resource royalty shared funds first go through the Alaska State Legislature. -dh
