Thanks to Must Read Alaska for this important Pebble Mine perspective!

…“The fact that our colleagues in the indigenous community would take an action against us without consultation is particularly disappointing. We have been engaged in the Pebble issue for nearly fifteen years. We have concerns about a mine near our communities, yet we also have concerns about the significant lack of economic opportunity for our people. We have put up with so-called regional and tribal organizations that tell the world that they speak with a united voice on the Pebble issue. Let us be clear – this is simply not the case,” the letter continued.  (Full Story Here)

Group Has Anchorage Rally Today Against The Brena Oil Tax Initiative (BOTAX: See Our Commentary)

Dear RSVP Rally Guest-

We are so encouraged by the overwhelming response to tonight’s rally, and excited to announce that you will be among nearly 500 other supporters in attendance this evening!

In order to safely manage the flow of people and vehicles, Delta Constructors’ neighbors are graciously providing access to their lots for overflow parking. We will also have parking attendants on sight to keep things organized. Please plan a few extra minutes to park and enter the building (signage will tell you where to go). Carpooling is encouraged and there will be a Lyft code available at the event for those who wish to get a ride home.

Limited food and beverages will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We have plenty of campaign swag ready to take home, and more than enough space to meet and chat with fellow rally-goers. We look forward to seeing you, your coworkers, friends, and neighbors as we rally to defeat this dangerous ballot initiative.

Doors open at 4:30 PM at Delta Constructors (351 E 104th Ave, Anchorage, AK 99515, behind the South Anchorage Target). A quick program will begin at 5:00 PM, with the event concluding at 6:00 PM.

Thank you, and see you soon!

Sincerely,

Your OneAlaska Team
