Dear Readers:

  1.  Please review our OCS hearing post yesterday…right here.
  2.  Below is an RDC alert dispatched today, on the same subject!

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is holding public meetings in Anchorage (Tuesday, April 5) and Ninilchik(Wednesday, April 6) on the new five-year Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) oil and gas leasing program for 2017-2022. The program evaluates 13 potential sales in six planning areas, including three potential sales off the coast of Alaska.

We need to defend the Alaska lease sales and show Alaskans do in fact support OCS development. Even though the lease sales in Alaska are not scheduled until late in the new proposed five-year lease plan, we need to make sure BOEM doesn’t remove Alaska like they have done to other regions.

TODAY, April 5: Anchorage, 3:00-7:00 p.m., Embassy Suites, 600 East Benson Blvd.
Wednesday, April 6: Ninilchik, 7:00-10:00 p.m., Ninilchik School
Now more than ever, pro-offshore energy voices need to make their voices heard to ensure that the Chukchi and Beaufort seas, as well as Cook Inlet, stay in the 2017-2022 offshore leasing program.  Please show your support for Alaskan offshore energy by attending and help get the word out to your families, friends, and colleagues.
