Point of Personal Privilege.  In order to keep up with northern energy newsDave Harbour, Alaska Heart Run, Heart Run 5K, Senior workout, senior fitness, senior exercise, Alaska senior and our zippy readers, we, of course, need to remain on this side of the grass and reasonably fit.  To that end, l exercise almost every day and try while failing almost daily to eat correctly and praise my Father in heaven for the opportunity to be here and, hopefully, of some service.  After the 5K Heart Run, yesterday, my wife, Nancy, snapped a photo.   I said, "Well, I sure hope I did better than last year."  She responded, supportively, "Honey, you should accept the fact that you will probably run a little slower every year."  I said, "My attitude is that as I get older I should run faster!"  She smiled knowingly.  This year’s result, was 37:59, just posted today, yielding: 18th Place, Mended Heart Division:  1724 Dave Harbour  68 M; and, in the Men’s Overall, Age 60-97 Division: 34th Place     …   Last two years’ results, 2010: 37:23; 2009: 38:47.  Ooops; missed beating my record by THIRTY-SIX SECONDS!  RATS!  (She may be right, but don’t tell her.)  -dh

It was about Shell Oil’s decision to cancel plans to drill on its federal leases in the Beaufort Sea this year because of roadblocks thrown up by federal agencies. The latest problem was that Shell’s environmental impact statement on its drilling prospect didn’t include emissions from a Coast Guard cutter that would be in the area to monitor things.
