ADN by Lisa Demer.  Exxon Mobil is on track to develop part of the huge, remote Point Thomson oil and gas field east of Prudhoe Bay, as required under a court settlement reached earlier this year with the Parnell administration, the company's senior manager on the project told state legislators Tuesday. Note: if this story is real, we are glad to no longer own BAC stock.  The Bank's board should increase shareholder dividends by $50 billion and let shareholders decide how they wish to save, waste or invest their money. Petroleum News.  As completion of Tesoro’s rail terminal to receive Bakken crude at its Washington refinery draws near, there’s talk within the company of shipping the light, sweet oil to Tesoro’s Alaska refinery where the company pays substantially more for both similar oil from the Cook Inlet basin and lower grade oil from the North Slope. If Cook Inlet basin oil explorers are successful, contract negotiations for their new oil could be tricky if Tesoro, the region’s primary oil buyer, plays its Bakken card. 6-1-12 – North America Faces An International Environmental-Progressive Siege

Calgary Herald Opinion, by Deborah Yedlin.  It's nothing short of mind-boggling.  NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair briefly toured the oilsands Thursday. But his visit didn't appear to change his negative stance on the industry whose financial benefits outside this province top $100 billion on an annual basis, with the lion's share going to Ontario. Yesterday, House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (NGP Photo) sent a series of letters to the Obama Administration requesting further information on how much the federal government spends on Endangered Species Act (ESA)-related litigation and settlement costs.  “The [...]
