Fossil Fuels: Hanging Together or Hanging Separately

Today’s commentary is offered in the spirit of helping to defend our readers against the endless advance of politically correct energy rhetoric.
We present a Praeger University presentation, “Fossil Fuels: The Greenest Energy”. Here, Alex Epstein, founder of the Center for Industrial Progress, “…reveals that such an energy source does indeed exist, and in fact we use it every day: fossil fuels. Despite what most environmentalists would have us believe, fossil fuels have made our lives more livable, not less. Thanks to coal, oil, and natural gas, the developed world has routine access to clean water, better sanitation, and yes, cleaner air. Watch the video and understand how, rather than destroying the planet, this miracle energy source is actually saving lives.”
We would add that several years ago, we became quite active within the ranks of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners’ Gas Committee in criticising natural gas companies for beginning to so harshly criticise coal; for, at that time, coal was the nation’s lowest cost fuel — aside from some legacy hydro projects — providing Americans with almost 50% of their electric power production needs. Companies like Chesapeake, as you will see from this link, ardently attacked coal producers like Peabody. Peabody is now bankrupt, depriving American consumers of its competitive pressure on low power production prices…and, the Chairman and founder of Chesapeake recently passed away amid concerning circumstances.
We will add a note that last December a score of international oil companies continued the misguided attack on coal, foolishly and suicidally aligning themselves with the Paris Climate Change activists whose primary goal is to destroy capitalism–not improve the environment.
In being so informed, our readers can exert pressure from a variety of NGO, governmental, political and private sectors on fossil industry participants to begin working together as never before. For the prosperity and even the survival of civilization itself is at stake. If fossil foes succeed, civilization cannot survive as it does today, until despotic forces behind environmental movements accrue sufficient power to totally control the means of production, transportation and distribution of all energy resources by complete regulatory domination or outright expropriation. (By the end of the day, we will add links to substantiate the points made herein, for your future reference.)
Today, therefore, we will not miss the opportunity to urge all fossil fuel industries to work together to spread the positive message they jointly own. We will again call on all of these natural allies to hang together or watch the forces of faux environmental chaos hang them separately.
