Comment: Our Interior Secretary, like his Chief Executive, looks at serious issues through the eyes of an incompetent manager. That’s assuming absence of mal intent. Mal management or incompetent management has produced arbitrary and capricious use of the Endangered Species Act, misuse of the Clean Air Act, rogue rulemaking, passive-aggressive permitting designed to delay or halt economic activity on federal lands. See Ed Wynn’s video interview below. Our editorials over the last two years have documented this abuse of power in detail.
One of our respected attorney readers (reformed father and creater of environmental law), Victor John Yannacone, Jr.(Photo), today alerts us to one of the ways Salazar’s management leads to wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars:
Not just because knowledge of climate models (see highlighted lines in the job posting) is of little value to the people of the United States for whose benefits the National Parks exist or because "cultural resource management and adaptation" is not a proper part of the National Park Service mission, but because the National Park Service bureaucracy headquarters in Washington does not need any more GS 13/14 bureaucrats; the NPS needs park rangers and people in the National Parks and at the National Monuments to properly interpret their place in American History and their intrinsic position in maintaining the American Way of Life.
