Point of Personal Privilege: Larry Crawford

The life of our longtime friend, Larry Crawford (NGP Photo with Susan Lindemuth), will be celebrated at his funeral service on Sunday, 1:30 p.m. at the Anchorage Municipal Cemetery.  A Chief of Staff to Governors and Mayors and a former President of the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation, Larry always conducted business selflessly, with the public interest in mind.  Here was a true public servant and faithful friend.  Here was a man whose life was valuable and relevant and contributed to a better world.  -dh

USGS Calls NPR-A Gas Province – Barrons Notes Governor Parnell’s Push for Oil – WSJ Describes Declining TAPS Production – Alberta Streamlines Regulatory Process

Personal:  Last night we returned from a wonderful meeting with Kentucky Colonels in the Churchill Downs Museum during the Kentucky Derby (NGP Photos above) and continued our Derby photography project for the second year running.  We were disappointed, however, to return and find little written yet about the forum Alaska gas pipeline Federal Coordinator Larry Persily (NGP Photo-L) had organized in Anchorage last night.  The program contained a cast of excellent speakers and we certainly would have been there to report on the highlights had we not been on an airplane at the time. Persily Promotes Pipeline Perseverance – Point of Personal Privilege: Honoring Ron Miller

We exercise our personal privilege: to honor our friend Ron Miller, who passed away yesterday.  We are grateful for a good ADN story by Lisa Demer that pretty well describes why those who knew Ron, will remember him as a dedicated citizen who gave more than full measure for the good of his fellow man and whose life of professional competence and high integrity ended entirely too soon.   -dh ADN Compass Piece by Alaska Gas Pipeline Federal Coordinator, Larry Persily (NGP Photo).  It's time to once again show that Alaska can [...]

ANS Natural Gas to Gasoline? – Tom Brennan Critiques Media – Harbour Misses Year over Year by 26 Seconds

PNA via ADN by Alan Bailey (NGP Photo).  With an increasing air of pessimism around the prospects for a pipeline to export natural gas from the North Slope, there is talk of alternatives for monetizing the vast quantities of gas stranded in Arctic Alaska. Point of Personal Privilege.  In order to keep up with northern energy news and our zippy readers, we, of course, need to remain on this side of the grass and reasonably fit.  To that end, l exercise almost every day and try while failing almost daily to eat [...]

Marian Call Entertains Us….

Marian Call (NGP Photo) sang like an Alaska nightingale last night, her last Alaska performance before launching a year-long tour of the Lower 48.  Enjoy a few of the photos below and check out her Website, here.  Sometimes--as a point of personal privilege on this gas pipeline webpage--we make note of personal things that mean much. Marian Call should mean much to all Alaskans.  Join me in wishing her well as she takes her remarkable talent on the road for a year...like a Northern artist breaking trail in the Lower 48 to become [...]

Chuck Webber Passes….

We again exercise our point of personal privilege by noting with sadness the passing of our long-time friend, Chuck Webber.  Chuck was always an advocate of free enterprise as we shared leadership with the Anchorage Chamber and he went on to become Commissioner of Commerce for Alaska.  Needless to say, we spend many pleasant hours over many cups of coffee and meals discussing economic development philosophies in general and gas pipeline mode and routing alternatives in particular.  ADN did a good job summarizing his history and accomplishments here.  One Chamber [...]
